MN401: Homiletics
This course introduces students to the essential basic skills needed in the preparation and delivery of homilies or sermons. Furthermore, the students will be able to distinguish between the different art of preaching and the skills of communicating the spiritual message using various approaches.
MN712: Faavae ma le Tulafono
All minister and parishioners must adhere to the rules and constitution of the church. The Constitution and rules are a mandate to preserve and provide continuity for its members. Therefore, it is imperative that all students or future minister have a comprehensive understanding of the current constitution and an awareness of its application.
The focus of this course will be reading and understanding of the Methodist Church in Samoa Constitution. The students are encourages to debate controversial issues such as woman ordination, homosexuality, gay marriage with reference to the bible, church doctrine and human rights.
MN602: Evangelism
This course will be able to train students to fulfill Christ's Great Commission: "to make disciples of all nations." Students will learn how to do Evangelism within a local church setting. The emphasis will be focus on practical application and workable solutions for evangelism in local church and parish church ministries.
MN102: Introduction to Christian Worship
This course introduces students to the field of Christian Worship. It traces the development and current practices of the main forms of Christians worship. An analysis will be conducted on Christian sacraments and its application in the book of liturgy (Tusi Fai Sauniga) for the Methodist Church in Samoa. Moreover, the students will introduce a conception that will provide foundation for the study of Christian Worship.
MN502: Pastoral Care and Counselling
This course is designed to introduce students to the field of Pastoral Care and basic counselling skills. Pastoral care and counselling concepts, terms, and definitions will be examined as a foundation to building students, knowledge and skills. It also brings on board the contribution of biblical and theological understanding in relation to pastoral counselling.
